This depends on the service and country where you will file the document. In some cases, such as for tax purposes or to declare a marriage or child at the Registry Office, the document must bear an Apostille. Therefore, you should ask the office where you will be filing the document whether or not an Apostille is required. Note that an Apostille is applied on public and not private documents. Finally, if the country where you are filing the document is not a member country for the Apostille Hague Convention, it must be certified by the consular authority. In all cases, an Apostille must be placed before the translation.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

For Greek administrative documents of public civil services, legal entities governed by public law (N.P.D.D.), local government bodies of the first degree and registry offices, the competent service is the Decentralised Administration. For judicial and notarial documents, the Court of First Instance is competent. ATTENTION! An Apostille is affixed at the place where the document is issued. If, for example, your birth certificate is issued in Thessaloniki, while you are a resident of Kavala, then you should contact the Decentralised Administration (Region) in Thessaloniki and not in Kavala. Finally, public documents must in all cases be the originals or true copies. True photocopies received by fax or Certificates from the National Municipal Registry or through the gov.gr portal are not being accepted.
For foreign-language documents, please note that an Apostille is affixed at the place of issue of the documents, so it is necessary to contact the local office abroad or a notary public.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

This depends on the service and country where you will file the document. In some cases, an original or true copy is required, while in others a simple photocopy of the document is sufficient. So, you just need to ask the service in the country where you’re filing the document.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

You can initially send it to us electronically, to speed up the process or to avoid having to visit us twice. If, however, the service to which you will submit the document requires the original, then you must bring it from our office or send it by post\/courier, if you live outside Kavala, so that we can attach the translation to the original. If the original is not required, we may send you the translation electronically (in pdf format).<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Our translations are official in Greece, according to Presidential Decree 169 of 17.06.2002 (Official Gazette 156\/2.7.02). If, however, for an ASEP (Supreme Staff Recruitment Board) competition a translation and certification of a copy by an attorney is required, we can assist you with authorised attorneys, registered in the local bar associations, with the right to certify the translation and the copy. And if you also may need a certification from the respective Bar Association (that the attorney is member of the Bar Association) we can take care of that as well. Simply inform us where you will submit the translation and we will take care of the rest.
If translations have to be filed abroad, whether or not they are being accepted, depends on the country filed. For example, countries like Great Britain, Germany, France, accept our translations without any problem. Again, if additional certification by an attorney lawyer is required, leave it to us. Other countries, such as Albania, only accept translations from official translators in their country and not from Greece.
